CIA, US senator who met with Trillanes, accused of plotting against Venezuelan president

Marco Rubio, the United States of America Senator who on Wednesday admitted that he met with  Senator Antonio Trillanes,was accused of having plotted against the government of President Nicolas Manduro of Venezuela.

Rubio in a tweet on Wednesday admitted that Trillanes was in the US meeting with him to talk about PH-US alliances and to illegal drug trade and human rights abuses hand in hand.



Venezuela's Foreign Minister Samuel Moncada and Carlos Ron, the chargé d'affaires of the embassy, accused Rubio and CIA Director Mike Pompeo of conspricing against Caracas, the country's capital, so that Washington can provide for them leaders amenable to the interests of the United States.

“What this group is trying to do with Venezuela is basically divide the government, recognize other leaders and foment a conflict with the Venezuelans,” Ron said in an interview.

He said that the conspiracy was "absolutely unacceptable".

Venezuela, a country in South America has the world's largest oil resource, but its economy is falling apart and its people suffering from massive poverty as oil reveneue from oil plummets.



Because of the economic crisis, over 1.5 million Venezuelans have fled the country.

Its president, Manduro, on July, pressed for a Constituent Assembly to revise their
constitution.

Maduro is the target of constant anti-government protests and condemnations from the United States and world community for pushing his country from democracy to authoritarian rule.

He was the successor of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez..
