The netizen identifying himself with the Chinese initials 王才天 said that the state is not responsible for the terrorism, as should not be compelled to pay the residents for their loss of revenue.
"The state acted to stop terrorism. Why is the state "ultimately" responsible for this senseless siege of Marawi? By your idiotic logic, we should likewise demand the residents of Marawi - who knowingly allowed the Mautes to live among them - to pay the residents of Mindanao for their loss of revenue, and for causing the mayhem," he said.
This was after Reyes made his own statement on Facebook, said that the President Rdorigo Duterte regime is ultimately responsible for the destruction of the city.
He added that a Marawi Truth Commission should be created to investigate the real cause of the conflict, and why the government itself had to bomb Marawi.
The netizen said, "Widespread devastation? Duterte made a mistake. Instead of the Philippine Army Rangers, he should've used that misshapen head of yours as battery ram in the fight against the Mautes.
Indiscriminate bombings? What? You think this country is rich enough to have laser-guided missiles?
Bobo. T*ng-ina. Saksakan ka ng kabobohan."
"It is in times like this and for people like you that I believe lynching ought to be legalized. 16 million kicks should do the trick, you dickwad."
More than 400,000 civilians have been displaced from the war, and over 1,000 have been killed.
