Bong Go sends help to airport workers
SEN. Christopher “Bong” Go sent relief aid to some 3,000 contractual airport utility workers and provided bicycles to selected recipients to help them in their daily commute.
The senator provided help to workers at terminals 1, 2 and 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on August 12, 13 and 14, respectively upon learning their difficult situation.
Reports said the salary of these workers was delayed and they have not received hazard pay or food allowance during the quarantine period.
Go sent his team to distribute face masks and grocery packs to the workers
“Huwag po kayong mag-alala, nakaabot sa akin ang inyong mga hinaing at tutulong po kami sa abot ng aming makakaya (Don’t worry, I learned about your predicament and I will help to the best of my ability,” Go said.
The senator’s office also coordinated with the Department of Social Welfare and Development to extend relief and financial assistance to the workers through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program.
