Duterte to intensify drive vs corruption – Bong Go
SEN. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Sunday said President Rodrigo Duterte will intensify his fight against corruption in the last two years of his term.
“Sabi ng Pangulo, ‘di siya titigil na lalabanan ang korapsyon (The President said he will not stop fighting corruption),” Go said in a radio interview.
“The next two years, sabi n’ya gagawin niya ang lahat. Gagawin niya ang lahat para sa Pilipino (he said he will do everything [to fight corruption]. He will do everything for the Filipino), ” he added.
The senator said that Duterte has reminded him to speak up against corruption even if it will involve political allies or fellow public officials.
He challenged the Department of Justice, which leads the Task Force recently created by the President to investigate corruption in PhilHealth and other agencies to bring to justice those responsible for anomalous acts and put an end to the deeply-rooted and systemic corruption in government.
He urged Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra and Exective Secretary Salvador Medialdea to tap the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission in the fight against corruption.
