Dev Patel celebrates India from his Los Angeles home
LONDON: Quarantine brought opportunities to Dev Patel’s Los Angeles front yard.
He was offered to celebrate India’s culture and civilizations by narrating a National Geographic special, “India From Above,” which airs September 30.
A portable and sanitized recording booth was sent and parked in his driveway.
“It was incredible to be able to make some art in a way, to voice this beautiful thing, linked up to India,” said Patel.
“India From Above” is a two-part documentary which uses drone footage to show aerial views of towering temples, religious gatherings, EDM festivals and solar technology. AP
J Balvin says he is recovering from the coronavirus
NEW YORK: Colombian superstar J Balvin says he is recovering from Covid-19, in a pre-taped video as he accepted an award at Premios Juventud.
“At this moment, I am recovering from Covid-19. These have been some very difficult days, very complicated. Sometimes you think it’s not going to hit you, and it hit me, and it hit me very hard,” said Balvin, speaking in Spanish.
The 35-year-old Latin Grammy winner told fans to take the virus seriously.
“This is not a joke … the virus as such exists. It’s very dangerous. Take a lot of care of yourselves,” he said. AP
Broadway musical ‘Diana’ to bypass closed stage for Netflix
NEW YORK: The Broadway musical “Diana” isn’t waiting for theaters to, it’s going to be filmed for Netflix and will follow the required safety protocols.
Its previews were in March but never officially opened, opening night will be on May 25, 2021.
“Diana” is the tragic yet inspiring story of a young woman learning to break free of the confines of the British royal family. It has songs by David Bryan of Bon Jovi and a story by playwright Joe DiPietro.
“Diana” stars Jeanna De Waal and explores Diana’s glamour, charity work, and the public crumbling of her relationship with Prince Charles. AP
