FDA issues EUA to Moderna vaccine
THE Philippines has given its emergency use authorization to the mRNA-1273 vaccine of American drug maker Moderna, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
FDA Director-General Rolando Enrique Domingo told The Manila Times in a text message that the vaccine will be given to all adults aged 18 and above.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the vaccine is required to be stored for -25 to -15 degrees Celsius and can be transferred to a regular 2-8 degrees Celsius refrigerator for 30 days and protected from any light source.
The vaccine, which has also been given emergency use listing by the World Health Organization, has a 94.1 percent efficacy rate based on its clinical trials held in the United States.
