SSS extends contribution payment deadline

GOVERNMENT-run Social Security System (SSS) announced that the contribution payment deadline for selected months in 2021 is extended to February 28, this year, in areas classified under a state of calamity due to Typhoon "Odette."

SSS said in a statement on Saturday that its Circular 2022-004 dated Feb. 9, 2022 indicated that contribution payments for the applicable months of November and December 2021 of business and household employers may be paid till the extended deadline.

In the meantime, the applicable months of October to December 2021 of coverage and collection partners, self-employed, voluntary, non-working spouse members, and land-based Overseas Filipino Worker members would also be subject to the new deadline.

Members living in the "Odette" affected regions, such as Region IV-B (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), Region VI (Western Visayas), Region VII (Central Visayas), Region VIII (Eastern Visayas), Region X (Northern Mindanao); and Region XIII (Caraga) are eligible for the extended deadline, SSS stressed.
