Domagoso declares June 30 non-working holiday in Manila

MAYOR Francisco

MANILA Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" declared Thursday June 30 a special non-working holiday in Manila to give residents the opportunity to witness the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

Mayor Domagoso signed Executive Order 53 to "ensure the safety, security and protection of participants to this momentous event."

The EO further noted that the city government will have to close various thoroughfares within the perimeter of the venue, which will affect the flow of traffic for both motorists and the riding public.

"It is fitting that all citizens of the country, in general, and residents of the City of Manila, in particular, be given the opportunity to witness and welcome this significant event in the life of the nation," Domagoso said in his EO issued on Thursday.

He ordered the Manila Police District and all law enforcement officers, including barangay officials, to strictly adopt and implement measures on the said date.

The inauguration of Marcos will be held at the National Museum, formerly known as the Old Legislative Building, at Padre Burgos Avenue in Ermita.
