PDEA Bicol seizes P3.4-M shabu

LEGAZPI CITY: Anti-narcotics operatives apprehended two suspected drug traders and seized P3.4 worth of suspected shabu in Guinobatan, Albay on Friday, June 10.

In a report by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bicol, about half a kilo of suspected shabu worth P3.4 million was confiscated from two suspects by operatives from PDEA Catanduanes provincial office, PDEA Albay provincial office and the Guinobatan Municipal Police Station in a buy-bust conducted at 1:10 p.m. at Purok 1, Barangay Inamnan Grande in Guinobatan.

The operation was spearheaded by PDEA provincial officer Van Dyke Fidelson. The anti-narcotics group arrested Yurie Balisoro Pavia, 39, and a minor who is currently a Grade 11 student, both residents of Barangay Inamnan Grande, Guinobatan town.

Seized during the operation were two knot-tied transparent plastic bags containing suspected shabu and a one-piece heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu with a total weight of more or less 500 grams and a street value of P3.4 million.

Several pieces of drug paraphernalia such as empty plastic sachets, aluminum foil and improvised tooter were also confiscated.

Charges for violation of Sections 5, 11 and 12 Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022," are now being prepared for filing against the suspect.

The minor will be turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.
