5 suspects face murder raps in Misamis Oriental
CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City: Multiple murder charges were filed against five suspects for the killing of four victims, including two minors, in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental, the regional police command said on Friday.
BGen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., police regional director for Northern Mindanao, said the charges were filed before the provincial prosecutors office in Misamis Oriental on Tuesday, July 12.
Acorda said the five suspects were reportedly seen on board a sports utility vehicle that multiple witnesses said was at the place of the incident.
Acorda, who did not disclose the identities of the suspects, assured the families of the victims that the perpetrators shall be brought to justice.
"Our investigation will not stop here until the suspects are placed behind bars so that justice will be served," Acorda said.
