Gen Zers are conquering the SME world

ROUGHLY 1.8 billion of the world's population are Gen Zers. Some say that this is the generation of modern technology and independence just like the millennials. Generally speaking, Gen Zers are those between the age of 10 and 25, born between 1997 and 2012. It is noticeable that some are already business owners or aspire to be one. But why does the younger generation choose to break the norm and skip the traditional 9-to-5 jobs? From their astute minds to their broad knowledge with technology, they are taking over the business world.

Younger generations know how hard living is through their parents and older relatives. Not wanting to get stuck with a daily routine, commute from home to work or struggle with traffic, they prefer to work everywhere. Traveling and going on a vacation while working is seen as one of the greatest perks as a business owner. The ability to have a flexible schedule and freedom of their time is what Gen Zers crave. Having fun and hanging out with friends is also a must.

From Facebook to TikTok, this new generation is creative when it comes to marketing their products. Their knowledge with technology helps their businesses gather consumers and introduce their ideas at zero cost and less effort. They mostly use the internet and different social media platforms to search for concepts and help develop their products, or they're taking online courses to enhance their skills. All they need are their mobile phones, laptops and the internet — they can do anything they set their minds to.

It's amazing to see how most Gen Zers are able to convert their passion to entrepreneurship. Their products are always either what the trend is or a fruit of their passion. Whatever you may need, a Gen Z (Generation Z) will have it for you. It may be an image of you cross-stitched on canvas or a rug with your pet's face. They put so much effort and passion into their products and turn these into a good profit. They have an eye for other people's passion as well, and they're very adaptive and receptive with new ideas.
