Marcos leaves Palace for National Museum

PRESIDENT-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is on his way to the National Museum of Fine Arts where he will take his oath as the 17th president of the Republic of the Philippines.

Marcos left Malacanang where he met his predecessor Rodrigo Duterte who is on his way to Davao City.

Duterte left the Malacanang Compound at about 10:50 a.m. and is not expected to attend Marcos' inauguration at 12 noon.

Marcos attended the departure ceremony for the outgoing chief executive and shook hands with outgoing Cabinet secretaries.

Marcos arrived in Malacanang at about 10:25 a.m. and was met by Duterte.

The two leaders held a short meeting before proceeding to the Malacanang grounds for the departure ceremony.

Alongside Marcos and Duterte were Sen. Christopher "Bong" Go, outgoing Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, and incoming Executive Secretary Victor Rodriguez.
