LPA may stay in PH for next 3 days -- Pagasa
THE low pressure area (LPA) last seen over Catanduanes in Bicol Region may remain at the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in the next three days but has a slim chance of developing into a tropical depression, the state-run weather agency said on Tuesday.
Aldczar Aurelio, weather specialist of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), told The Manila Times that the weather disturbance was spotted past 3 a.m., Tuesday, some 190 kilometers north-northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or 340kms east of Infanta, Quezon.
"According to our forecast track, the LPA may remain within PAR over the next three days but it is not likely to transform into a storm as it may eventually exit the country," Aurelio said.
However, the weather disturbance is bringing cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Bicol Region and Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) in the next 24 hours, the Pagasa weather forecaster said.
It said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will likely have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the localized thunderstorms.
