VP Duterte prays for Marcos' health amid 2nd Covid bout

VICE President Sara Duterte-Carpio has offered prayers to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr after he tested positive again for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Press Secretary Rose Beatrix "Trixie" Cruz-Angeles announced during a Malacañang press briefing on Friday that Marcos underwent an antigen test after showing "mild feverish" symptoms.

In a brief statement released late Friday, Duterte, who is also Education Secretary, prayed that "God continue to bless Marcos with good health".

Duterte was Marcos' runningmate under the UniTeam party in the May 9, 2022 elections which they both won resoundingly.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that Marcos only needs to be isolated for seven days as he has only mild symptoms.

Marcos was one of the first personalities who was infected with Covid-19 during its early phase in 2020 after a vacation in Europe.
